BRB offers Plain Elastomeric Bearings, Steel-laminated Elastomeric Bearings, and PTFE Conjugated Laminated Elastomeric Bearings with wide-range shapes, including hollow shapes with a wide range of physical & mechanical properties.
BRB provides quality materials, including natural rubber with hardness ranges of 50-70, Polychloroprene/Neoprene (C.R.) with hardness ranges of 50-70, and a wide range of shear modulus which comply with ASTM, State DOT, AASHTO M251, and AREMA standards.
Laminted Bearing pads
BRB takes pride in manufacturing Steel-Laminated Bearing Pads that feature reinforced steel shims sandwiched between rubber layers through vulcanization and molding manufacturing process to form a homogeneous unit. These embedded steel plates limit excessive expansions, but they also increase transversal, longitudinal and compressive strength and rotation capability compared with Plain
Elastomeric Bearing Pads.
BRB also provides Steel-Laminated Elastomeric Bearing pads in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and shear modulus based on customer/contractor specifications of the design plans or specialty size.
Non Laminted/Plain Bearing pads
Plain Elastomeric Bearing pads allow for expansions and contractions of the precast steel structure of bridges. They also can control load distribution while accommodating thermal and end-beam rotational movements. It is capable of regaining its initial shape & dimensions when subjected to loads within the elastic range.
BRB offers plain elastomeric bearing pads with a wide range of shapes, including rectangular, circular, hollow shapes with a wide range of physical & mechanical properties (Hardness, Tensile, Elongation, and Shear Modulus).
PTFE/Slide Bearing Assembly
It has a layer of virgin PTFE chemically bonded to the laminated elastomeric bearing to reduce the sliding resistance and improve the structure’s displacements capacity. The purpose of the PTFE layer is to reduce the friction Coefficient for Bearing-Structure and achieve enhanced longitudinal displacement.
PTFE Conjugated Laminated Elastomeric Bearings are installed into bridges with large spans, continuous spans, supported beams, persistent plate structures, or large displacements. Support structures require less vertical but more horizontal weight.
BRB is committed to providing the PTFE Conjugated Laminated Elastomeric Bearing pad per customer/contractor design plan specifications, including size, shape, and shear modulus requirements.
Expansion Joints
Expansion joints are a vital element of the bridge superstructure. Along with various mechanical stresses, the expansions joints also have another challenge, i.e., corrosion & environmental degradation. Precise selection and maintenance of expansion joints determine the life of the superstructure. Careful selection of expansion joints imparts a durable superstructure.
BRB offers the expansion joints offered in Neoprene grades with a broad range of physical properties (hardness, elongation, permanent set ozone resistance, etc..) at your required dimensions.
BRB’s Expansion Joints meet technical requirements such as absorption of expansion, contraction, translation, and rotational motions in bridge superstructures.
